Description:
Calling all artists! Join us for "Trash to Treasures - Loving the Discarded Art" exhibition hosted by Karen Kingsbury & Marilyn Zinner at the Mistlin Gallery. Running from June 11 to July 12, this show invites artists of all backgrounds to transform discarded or unwanted items into stunning works of art. From wall hangings to sculptures, fabric art to small furniture pieces, we encourage creativity with recycled or found objects. Photo documentation of the art build is requested for promotional purposes.

Awards:
Monetary prizes and ribbons will be awarded for First Place ($100), Second Place ($75), Third Place ($50), and Best of Show ($50). Honorable Mentions will receive a ribbon, and the People’s Choice award will be presented during the Third Thursday Art Walk on June 20th.
Jurors and Judges:
All submissions will be juried, and the Show Host can be contacted with any viability questions before submission.
Entry Details:
Each artist may submit up to 4 entries at $20 per entry for non-members and $15 per entry for CCAA members. Fees are non-refundable. Furniture pieces must be small and can include tables, chairs, etc.
Submission Process:
Submit your artwork online at SmarterEntry. For assistance, contact Krystle Lisek at 209-529-3369.
Deadline:
Entries must be submitted by May 25th at 11:30 pm. Acceptance notifications will be sent by June 2nd.
Receiving:
Artwork drop-off will be located at TBD, on May 7th from 10 am to 3 pm. No mail-in entries will be accepted.
Important Notes:
All artwork must be original and representative of the show’s theme. Works shown at Mistlin Gallery in 2023 are ineligible. Wall art must be ready to hang with wire hangers on the back. Artists must sign a Waiver of Loss or Damage upon delivery. The gallery requires a 40% commission on each piece sold.
Fashion Show:
In addition to the exhibition, we're excited to announce a fashion show featuring artist-created pieces on Art Walk evening. Stay tuned for more details!
Terms:
The gallery reserves the right to reject art that doesn’t align with the theme, significantly differs from the submitted image, or is improperly prepared for installation. Submission indicates agreement for promotional image use.
