Celebrating Excellence: Stanislaus Arts Council Named "Nonprofit of The Year"

Modesto, CA - January 26, 2024

We are overjoyed to share the incredible news that the Stanislaus Arts Council has been awarded "Nonprofit of The Year" by the Modesto Chamber of Commerce. This momentous recognition, announced on January 25th, 2024, is a testament to our steadfast commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community in Stanislaus County.

A Moment of Pride

Yesterday marked a pinnacle of achievement as the Stanislaus Arts Council proudly accepted the "Nonprofit of The Year" award. This recognition is a celebration of our unwavering dedication to supporting, promoting, and advocating for artists and creative endeavors across all forms within our community.

Championing Arts Education with CLASS

Central to our success is the outstanding impact of our flagship program, the Community Liaison for Artists in Stanislaus Schools (CLASS). Annually reaching 17,000 students, CLASS brings artistic inspiration to those who might not otherwise have access to arts education. This acknowledgment fuels our passion for enriching lives through creativity, solidifying our role as a crucial cultural entity in Stanislaus County.

Empowering the Arts Community Through Collaboration

Stanislaus Arts Council was also recognized for our role as a partner agency in the Heartland Creative Corps Grant Program. Furthering our commitment to the diverse and vibrant arts scene in our region, this collaborative effort not only brings $1.65 million in funding for artist jobs but also signifies our dedication to cultural equity, inclusivity, and the empowerment of our local arts community.

A Rich Tapestry of History

Our journey began in the late 1940s as the Central California Art Association (CCAA). Evolving over time, we transitioned into the Stanislaus Arts Council in 2019, officially rebranding in 2023 - becoming the official State/Local Partner to the California Arts Council for Stanislaus County. Through the years, our commitment to the arts has remained unwavering, contributing to the cultural fabric of Stanislaus County.

Looking to the Future

As we celebrate this award and the immense artistic talent within our community, we eagerly anticipate the continuation of our mission to create a vibrant cultural presence in Stanislaus County. Grateful for the support of our community, we remain dedicated to fostering creativity, embracing diversity, and shaping the cultural landscape of the Central Valley.
