Stanislaus Arts Council Presents "Fiber Arts Celebration" at Mistlin Gallery

Modesto, Calif. (February 20, 2024) — The Stanislaus Arts Council is thrilled to present the Celebration of Fiber Arts exhibition at Mistlin Gallery by the Country Crossroads Quilters. This showcase invites the community to delve into the vibrant world of textile arts from April 2 through May 3, 2024.

The Country Crossroads Quilters, a nonprofit educational organization deeply rooted in Modesto, California, has championed the rich tradition of quilting as a revered American art and craft for over four decades. Established more than 40 years ago, the group's mission centers on nurturing a lasting appreciation for quilting's artistic value and cultural significance. Through a diverse range of workshops, they offer invaluable opportunities for skill enhancement and creative exploration within the quilting community. Biennially, they curate an enthralling quilt exhibition, showcasing the diverse talents of their members and inspiring enthusiasts from near and far. Beyond their artistic pursuits, the Country Crossroads Quilters extend their love for quilting to charitable endeavors by crafting quilts for nonprofit organizations, embodying their dedication to both creativity and community service.

Starting in April, we invite you to join us at Mistlin Gallery to marvel at a diverse array of meticulously crafted quilts, each infused with artistic flair and meticulous attention to detail. The Best Sellers Challenge presents quilts inspired by beloved book titles, offering a unique twist on traditional quilting themes. Penni Barger's whimsical hand-stitched dolls inject charm and personality into the exhibit, while wearable art pieces and framed mini quilts offer opportunities to take home a slice of this creative universe.

Mistlin Gallery welcomes visitors Tuesday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturdays, noon to 4:00 p.m. On April 18th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we will host our monthly Art Walk, where guests can interact directly with the artists and experience the enchantment of their creations firsthand. Complimentary refreshments provided by Mistlin Gallery will be available. Admission is free during Art Walk and regular business hours.
